To buy a puffle on Club Penguin you need to visit the Pet Shop.
In the pet shop there is a catalog called Adopt A Puffle. All 7 types of puffle are listed in the catalog and you can buy them.
In Club Penguin you can have up to 14 puffles if you are a member of Club Penguin.
In Club Penguin non-members can have up to 2 puffles but only red or blue puffles.

You need to feed, bathe, play with and walk Puffles.

No, on Club Penguin puffles don't die if you forget to feed them and look after them. If you neglect your puffles they run away and you will have to buy some new ones!
You can bathe puffles, watch them eating and sleeping. You can take them for walks around Club Penguin and you can watch them play with things.
If you click on the icon that looks like a lead on your puffle's player card then you can take your puffle for walks around Club Penguin.
If you have your puffle with you on a walk and you use your action key to make yourself dance then your puffle will dance too!
If you want your red puffle to play, click on the ball icon on your puffle's player card and it will fire itself out of a cannon and fall to land using a parachute, or play with bowling pins / skittles.
If you want your blue puffle to play, click on the ball icon on your puffle's player card and it will play with a ball.
If you want your pink puffle to play, click on the ball icon on your puffle's player card and it will play with a rope and play with a lasso; or play on a trampoline!
If you want your black puffle to play, click on the ball icon on your puffle's player card and it will do stunts on a skateboard!
If you want your green puffle to play, click on the ball icon on your puffle's player card and it will fly around using its propellor cap; or ride a unicycle while juggling!
If you want your purple puffle to play, click on the ball icon on your puffle's player card and it will play with bubbles from its bubble wand or dance beneath a disco ball!
If you want your yellow puffle to play, click on the ball icon on your puffle's player card and it will either paint a picture on an easel or become a film director!
